Joseph Martin & Son, New York, New York, tall clock, 8 days, time, strike and calendar, weight driven brass movement in a mahogany and crotch mahogany veneer case with four fancy fully turned columns flanking trunk and hood doors, deeply carved broken arch pediment and painted iron dial with symbolic fraternal scene in arch and four seasons in corners, c1825 the case has a good old refinish. There is a poor repair to the top of the trunk door and a repair on the left swan's neck in the pediment. There is a crack in the plinth on the right hand side. The base / feet have been removed. There is a paint loss near 2 and on the calendar dial and minor flaking elsewhere. The calendar arbor is bent and the movement is in untouched condition and will need service. The weights and pendulum are period and appear to be original. Ht 88 1/4"
