the case retains its original finish. There is a repair to lower base where weight fell through. The dial is original with original paint and unsigned. The original E. Howard & Co., Boston signed label on inside of door is in good condition. The reverse painted tablets are Howard & Davis type and appear original. The weight is original and stamped "3". This appears to be a transitional piece manufactured soon after the dissolution of Edward Howard and David Davis partnership. This is a good example and appears to be in the original condition as it left the factory. Ht 44 1/2"
