Berrolla, Rue Grenetat N. 4, a Paris, very unusual gilt bronze table or mantel clock with calendar, phases of the moon and retrograde displays, 8 day time and strike pendule a Paris movement signed Pons on front plate, snake form bezel and silvered Roman numeral dial with aperture below center showing retrograde seconds, aperture in case front with scalloped edge displaying retrograde date, a round aperture below trimmed with gilt leaves and flowers showing phases of the moon, the moon disc painted with a smiling face and backed by a dark blue enamel sky with stars, these displays flanked by swans and cornucopias and other Grecian ornaments, the base with 3 silvered dials with scalloped edges, showing day of the week, date, and month, all dials with blued steel hands, the whole on rectangular feet, c1825 Case very good with minor rubs and scratches, gilding good with minor losses, dial with minor scratches and uneven toning, dial figures and signature with restoration, minute hand replaced, retrograde displays with minor toning, calendar dials with uneven wear & toning, calendar figures with restoration, movement good, dirty and with minor rust; ticks and strikes, retrograde seconds functional, rod for rate adjustment bent, bell replaced, hammer missing, retrograde date and moon phase not working, needs adjustment, calendar working, Ht 15 3/8"
