the brass has its original surface which now is somewhat dull and tarnished, and the beveled glass panels are fine except for a corner chip on one side piece. The enamel dial has a hairline, and the visible escapement has steel pallets. The fancy cast bezel and pendulum retain their original gold plating., One of the glass pendulum tubes, enclosing the simulated mercury, is broken at the bottom but not visible from the front. The movement, with its rear rack and snail, strikes half hours on a gong. Ht 11"
