Sperry & Shaw, New York, four spired steeple or "Sharp Gothic" mantel clock, 30 hours, time and strike, spring driven fusee movement in a mahogany veneer case with painted metal dial and silk screened tablet, c1848 the case retains its original finish with veneer absent from the rounded front moldings and front top blocks. The door veneer is beginning to lift. The dial and hands are all original and there is a great tablet of the old Hartford state house (built 1796, still standing). Ht 21"
