Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Lunar" 8 days, time and strike, weight driven mahogany wall clock, c1884 the old finish is in good condition, but the lower portion of the case is absent and has been partially replaced by the scrolled piece that formerly was on the front of the base. The top scrolls have some age cracks, visible only from the top. The metal dial is repainted, the moon dial now is new paper, and striking is on a coil gong, not on a bell as described in Ly. The lyre plate movement, with ladder chains, is correctly signed and retains the wheels for advancing the moon dial. The fluted weights and cast pendulum bob look correct. Ht 29.5"
