English, twin fusee, bell strike bracket clock, Regency period, ebonized veneer with brass inlay, and a painted enamel dial bearing the name Dewhurst, in Clitheroe. The Gothic style case with cast brass side frets and pineapple finials, c1820 the case has several dry splits in both the veneer and the base wood, having been in a dry climate for some time. The robust and well made movement with shaped plates, is dark and although it ticks and strikes, would benefit from a cleaning. The dial has some minor losses, is crazed and appears to be original. About half the brass inlay is loose and we taped over some with clear tape in an effort to avoid more damage. Overall a good original English piece that will respond to TLC Ht 19"
