Austrian, c1875, large 2-weight (striking), 30-day duration movement with 9" dial, in a very large case of later manufacture, and with a simulated 4-jar mercury pendulum. the carvings, columns and applied trim pieces on this case are old, however the modern sides and door are made of solid walnut to avoid the headache of veneering. The old beat scale sets up on a later large door pull. Brass corbels which have been strengthened, support the movement, and are attached to a large pine shim placed in the case back, and now surrounded with walnut molding. Weights are new; pend stick old, glass jars and carriage New. The case work is well done and imaginative, and the clock is visually very impressive Ht 86"
