English tall clock, 8 days, time, strike and automata, two weight driven movement in a heavily carved flat top mahogany case with beveled glasses and automated striking figures in arch on brass dial with silvered chapter ring, c1890 the case retains its original finish in good condition with a minor chip to angels left wing on trunk door. The lower panel has an age split filled and the lower part of the base has restoration. There is a repair in pendulum rod. The original brass weights are painted black. Arch features father time with 2 cherubs appearing to strike the bell with hammers during strike sequence; this is more often found in South German or Austrian dials, but in this case the English customer must have asked for something special; very eye catching.
