Birge, Peck & Co., Bristol, Conn large OOG shelf clock with 8 days, time and strike, weight driven brass strap movement, c1855. Mahogany case retains original but somewhat rough finish with a few veneer chips and a few veneer patches. The painted metal dial is faded and has some flaking in multiple locations. The hands are old, but may not be original. The top and bottom glasses are original with some flaking of the scene ("View of Venise") on the bottom glass. Ht 29 1/2".
