Birge & Fuller, Bristol, Conn., 8 days, time and strike, weight strap brass movement triple decker shelf clock with faux tortoise shell columns and mahogany veneered splat, c1845 Mahogany veneered case in original finish with some veneer loss on the base and the upper left just below the chimney. The veneered splat unusual, but looks original. Original painted wood dial (mispositioned in photo) has missing grommets, a repair to the top edge of the center circle and some loss at the mounting pins. Hands are original. Center tablet is original with small piece broken off. The bottom tablet signed: "Joseph A. Wizwell", an old replacement as it lacks the finesse of the upper glass. Original columns with some wear. Movement is signed. Clean label inside the case. Ht 36"
