Ansonia Clock Co., New York, "Crystal Palace No. 1 Extra" shelf clock with spring driven 8 days, time and strike, (hour & half hour on bell) movement on a walnut base and under a period dome, c1880. The walnut base has been refinished to a low luster The mirror frame has been secured with two small nails. The paper dial is a newer replacement. The hands are replacements. The pendulum bob is the Davies patent bob which is correct as Henry J. Davies designed these Crystal Palace models. The two cast statues have been repainted. The dome, while old, does not fit the base of this clock. Ht 19".
