Birge, Mallory & Co., Bristol, CT 8 days, time and strike, weight driven double-decker cornice top shelf clock with a strap brass movement, c1840. The mahogany case retains little finish and has several areas of small veneer damage with some pieces missing. The painted wood dial is in good condition with only minor loss at the dial support pins. The hands are original as is the dial glass. The two lower tablets are both replacement. The movement is signed. An original bill of sale is pasted to the inside base of this clock Ht 37".
