Clocks- 2 (Two) French: 8 days, time and strike, mantel clocks - (1) Japy Freres movement, gilt metal figural case on oval ebonized wood base (no glass dome); (2) Blue hand-painted porcelain case with Marti movement; both c1890 the ornate spelter case retains its original gold finish with some wear especially on top of the movement drum. The oval wood base is in good condition. The white porcelain dial has no cracks but is a bit chipped around a winding hole. The figure is well executed of a youth with a basket of roses. The bell-striking movement is missing its hammer, and its bell stand has been repaired, but it shows a Japy Medaille d'Honneur stamp. The porcelain clock is in very condition with no apparent flaws Its convex beveled glass and multicolor dial are fine. Pendulum is absent. Hts are 13 1/2" and 10"
