Austria, Vienna regulator, Biedermeier style, mahogany veneered case with light wood borders, backboard with nicely figured crotch mahogany veneer, top with ripple molding, and bottom bracket with carved composition ornament, Roman numeral white enamel dial with cast brass piecrust bezel, blued steel hands, brass 3 train grand sonnerie striking movement, the 3 days time train driven by a brass weight, the strike trains powered by springs, and probably of 2 to 3 day duration, c1850 case in an old finish, with some fading to veneers, and minor insect damage, bottom with replaced ornament, one stabilizing screw missing, side glasses loose, movement mounting brackets re glued and with residue on interior of case back, bezel good, dial with restoration to numerals, and a coat of lacquer, minor chipping to enamel at winding arbors, hands with bends and uneven bluing, movement with minor oxidation on steel parts, ticks and strikes, back edge of seat board trimmed, weight with minor loss to lacquer, pendulum with minor scratches, Ht 41 1/2"
