Dent, London, 8 day time only, desk clock in the Gothic style, the gilt case with stepped base and molded feet, gable with applied scroll ornament, modified lancet arch front with conforming, silvered dial mask framing a foliate engraved silvered Roman numeral dial, the center with engine turning, and signed "Dent London" below the chapter ring, blued steel spade and poker hands, small French style carriage timepiece movement with lever platform, case back with apertures for regulation, setting and winding, with shutter for exclusion of dust, and marked "3038", stamped crown over a lozenge shaped reserve marked "E.W.S.", an hourglass, and banner with "Machine Made", c1870 Case dirty, dent at top left back, gilding with wear and loss, polish residue, missing a few case screws, dial mask with some discoloration, dial good with minor flake to numeral XII, and a few spots, hands good, movement clean, will run, but with broken mainspring, Ht 6 1/8"
