France, champleve and polychrome enamel decorated mantel clock, architectural gilt brass case with toupie feet, corners with twisted columns and with flattened gadrooned finials, casket form top with champleve decoration, champleve freize, base, and borders, the front and sides set with polychrome enamel decorated plaques, the front features two figures in antique costume seated in a landscape, the left side with male figure, the right with a female, both in similar dress and surrounded by nature, the side panels signed "H. Poitevin", Arabic numeral white enamel dial with floral garlands, blued steel hands, 8 days, time and strike, pendule a Paris movement signed Marti, c1910 Case dirty and now painted gold, some gilding survives beneath, could be improved with cleaning, scratches and abrasions, champleve enamel is good, painted panels are very good, dial very good, original hands with minor oxidation, movement ticks and strikes, very oily, would benefit from service, Decorative clocks of this refinement do not turn up that often.
