France, Houri, Voisin, large gilt bronze mantel clock, surmounted by a large, ornate, swagged urn, with conventional early Japy movement with silk thread suspension mounted in the base. This case is usually found with an orbital or rotating dial near the top of the urn, however, this model is original, as shown, c1840 if you'd like one imposing French clock, this one can fill the bill. The original gilding is in outstanding condition, the porcelain enamel dial is excellent, with only minor edge chips near attaching holes [does not show with bezel closed], finely cut and chased hands, and original pendulum. This is a very heavy clock, special shipping suggested. Mov't ticks and strikes, but would benefit from cleaning. 1 or 2 case screws lacking & can be replaced. Ht 21 1/2"
