Birge & Mallory & Co., Bristol, Conn., 8 days, time and strike, weight brass movement triple decker shelf clock, c1840 Mahogany veneered case with a heavy dark finish that obscures the grain and the gilding on the columns and splat. Right front foot has some damage to the finish. Original painted dial with some scattered shrinkage loss on the lower one third. Original hands. Original bottom tablet with loss. Center glass is often a mirror, but now has a painted scene on glass. A couple of cracks in the eagle splat. Door lock missing on upper door. Dark, but readable label inside case. Ht 40Ò
