although the scalloped dial is nicely engraved with Roman Numerals, its silvering is worn to brass. The spired Gothic frame is light and delicate and the train wheels are finely made, even though only 4 spokes. The old dome is slightly large for the base; does not fit into the groove, however has nice proportions, and keeps the dust out. Overall, a hand made, pre-production era skeleton, sure to please the fastidious English collector. Ht of plates = 7.6Ò overall with dome and base = 11+Ó
