German origin, ÓVienna RegulatorÒ, 3-weight, Grand Sonnerie double door, walnut cased wall clock with melodious rod quarter striking, the dial and pendulum with female, Art Nouveau decorations, c1900 the replaced smooth weights do not have Nouveau decorations. Some of the veneer on the case has bubbled up, and the finish is distressed; the top trim is new, stained to match, top left return molding repaired. The movement has been serviced, re-bushed, re-strung and oiled and seems to run and strike fine. Movement mounts to 4 turned brass posts on bracket. Note the trademark on rear of movement is one we have not seen, it shows an armored clad rider on a rearing horse, facing right; we looked in KochmannÕs book and on the internet and could not find this trademark.
