Unsigned, Boston, Mass. area, 8 days, weight brass movement Patent Timepiece or ÒbanjoÓ clock, c1815 Half round mahogany molding and mahogany case in an old and possibly original finish. Rabbetted throat frame has a couple of age cracks in the molding. Bottom door also has a couple age cracks as well. Both painted tablets are replaced. Original painted dial has some wear to the numbers and minor paint loss at the winding arbor and at the mounting pins. Movement is mounted to the case with through bolts. Eagle finial is a replacement. The cross strip on the pendulum key is sometimes found on Aaron Willard, Jr., William Cummens and Elnathan Taber examples. Door is locked with the winding key.
