Welch, Spring & Co.,Forestville, Conn., ÓPatti, V.P.Ò (also known as Patti, No. 1) model rosewood shelf clock, from their popular series named for the famous Spanish-born opera singer, Adelina Patti (1843-1919), c1880 some where over the years, a customer disliked this clock striking on a bell and had their clock man install a base mounted gong in this clock. A gong was available on alarm models, however it was back mounted on a brass spanner with 2 screws each side, rather than a round base to the bottom of the clock. It works OK, but if you have a Patti-type bell and under movement mount, you could restore it to this clock. It is otherwise in good original condition. Ht 18 1/2Ó
