Germany, large shelf cuckoo, the Gothic inspired oak case of architectural form, with castellated parapet above a molded arch with applied, pierced carvings, supported by slender twist turned (barley twist) columns at the corners. The Roman numeral, turned wooden dial with carved hands, all on a rectangular base with carved, recessed panels, ogee molding, and flat, molded feet, 8 days, two train fusee movement striking on a gong assisted by the painted wooden cuckoo, c1860 case good, with repairs to some carved elements, and with minor losses and imperfections, dial and hands good, movement clean, ticks, strikes, and cuckoos, pendulum replaced. Of note is that this clock has a wooden plated movement with large brass fusees, each fusee with 15 turnings, and the movement has been recently serviced and with proper adjustment this clock will run / cuckoo for a week.
