France, for Tilden, Thurber, Co., Providence, R.I., gilt brass, art nouveau influenced case with bevelled glass panels, Roman numeral white enamel dial, blued steel hands, 8 days, time and strike movement with lever platform, c1900 case now without gilding, front and back glasses with minor chips, dial with crack at upper left, possibly repaired at upper right, running and striking, currently striking the approaching hour on the half hour, hairspring with bend in outer coil, the outer and adjacent coils caught in regulator pins, Ht 6 7/8" to top of handle
