American Clock Co., 3 Cortlandt St., New York, NY, Painted Iron Front shelf clock with a spring driven, 30 hours time and strike movement, c1855. The iron front has hand painted decoration and scene which has darkened, but still quite nice. Unlike most, this has very little mother-of-pearl. The original painted dial has been covered with a newer paper dial. Hand are original. The movement is unsigned. Ht 16".
