French cast fisherman spelter figural, 8 days, time and strike, mantel clock on painted wood base (no glass dome), unsigned movement, c1880 the large ornate case appears to retain its original gilt finish, with some wear and one repair to a side piece. The base black paint also is worn. The white porcelain dial is chipped and cracked. There was never a front bezel or rear door as the movement was originally protected from dusty by a glass dome. The movement ticks and strikes, with a newer pendulum, but was not tested further. Ht on base 19 1/2", base width is 20"
