A good workman took parts from two other old tops and created a top that looks OK at a distance, but its reddish tone is a bit obvious when you get up close; holes and shadows on rear of top explain its origin. Now beyond the negative, this clock is otherwise in outstanding original condition, with a great movement, recently cleaned by Beachams, and in running and striking order. Would probably have been $1500 with orig top. Ht 55"
