France, mantel timepiece, gilt and patinated bronze case, rectangular base on gilt feet with Grecian ornament, supporting a patinated mid section, with Roman numeral gilt dial, each figure within a floral cartouche, blued steel Breguet style hands, fasces and torch corners, and deeply molded cornice with foliate ornament, and surmounted by a pair of putti, one chasing a butterfly around a basket of flowers, and being restrained by the other, the butterfly attached to the pallet arbor and moving back and forth as the clock runs, 8 day timepiece movement, c1830 case good overall, some gilding touched up, butterfly missing one antenna, and also glued to wire, one empty hole in case top, and an open screw hole in the back of one putto, ticks, 15 1/2h x 6"w
