Ephraim Downs, Bristol, Conn.; 30 hours, time and strike, weight driven wood movement Pillar & Scroll shelf clock, c1825 Mahogany veneered case with an old finish. Original top has a repair to the original left scroll tip and a small loss at the left side of the bottom of front skirt. Original painted dial with some wear at the gilt center decoration. Proper style tablet repainted on the original glass. Proper Downs movement. Period eagle hands are unusual for a Pillar & Scroll, perhaps from another clock. Nice label inside the case. Finials are modern. Ht 30"
