English tall clock, 8 days, time and strike, on gong, weight driven movement in a mahogany and crotch mahogany veneer case with reeded columns flanking hood and base plinth, and rope turned columns flanking trunk, flame finials on hood with carved rosettes on goose neck crest and Gothic arched crotch mahogany trunk door. The painted iron dial has moon phase, date calendar and painted morning glory spandrels, c1840 the case retains an old finish. This is a restoration project with several pieces of molding absent and veneer loss in the arch of the hood door and other minor issues. The dial is in very good condition.
