Austrian, unusual small single weight Viennese timepiece in a stylized figure 8 case with mother of pearl floral decorations to the door, the movement with a white glass dial and cast brass bezel, c1850 It appears to us that the French cast pendulum has been adapted to the case, and although it looks attractive, the clock started life with a wooden rod and brass bob. To bring the dial closer to the glass, cardstock shims have been added under the mounting bracket. The well made movement has Harrison style retaining power. 2 small trim moldings lacking at top. No winding crank. Delicate hands are original. Ht 32"
