Terry while working for Gilbert, 1859-1861. 8 days, weight driven brass timepiece with Galusha Maranville patent calendar, c1862 Rosewood veneered case in an old finish with a little wear to the veneer and the edge of the door on the latch side. The bottom bracket is missing. Original painted dial now has a clear varnish applied to protect the numbers. The time numbers have been strengthened There have been poorly matched color repairs at the mounting screws, top and bottom date changing arbors, in the center area and winding arbor hole. Original hands and tablet. Gilt border on bottom door overpainted with gold paint. Nice gold and blue label inside the case. Ht 31"
