Walnut and walnut veneered case in an old finish with some with some chips on the door bottom a small damage to the right and left side door molding. The burl veneer on the door and base on raised panels is rough and lifting in places. There are poor repairs to bottom bracket and moldings where someone has used some type of caulking to fill the gaps where the bracket meets the base. The top of the case has the same treatment. The center finial looks to be original and is the proper design with the tip broken off. There is a gap at the top of the door that maybe related to the poor repairs. Original paper dial has surface abrasion and has age darkened. Original paper calendar dial has surface abrasion and staining. Time hands are period, but not the type usually found on this model. However they are Welch hands and the movement is marked Welch, Spring & Co., so they are likely correct. Original calendar hand. The ring that holds the calendar dial in place looks modern. Ht 48"
