Girandole" wall timepiece with dial signed John Polsey & Co., Boston, Mass., 8 day, weight driven brass movement.

Gilt and refinished mahogany case in nice condition, has some small loss to some of the gilt balls on the bottom door, some abrasion near the hinge, at the door latch and some light abrasion on the carved gilt base. Original painted dial now has a coat of clear varnish to stabilize the paint. There is some minor paint loss on the edge in a couple places. The Polsey signature on the dial is a later addition. Original hands and eagle finial. Tablets are older repaints. Movement is signed. It is our opinion that this clock was made up in the 20th century from old and new parts, but it has a good look. Our estimates are less than 1/10 of that of a period girandole.
