(1) Walnut case 12" wide, 10" deep and 10.25" tall has an ebonized base molding and is in good condition with finish scuffs on left side. No. 302 penned on bottom, but no maker's name, although a paper label gives a New York name and address to write for a replacement broken reed. It plays well and loudly, though it is missing a sound box or enhancer (perhaps an option) which fitted into slots in the upper sides and bridged above the roll. Only one paper roll included. (2) The player concertina needs restoration and has serious veneer loss and metal surface deterioration on the case. It is 9": wide, 10.5" high and 11" deep. One end opens to reveal a 4.5" paper roll which is played by a key wound mechanism and apparently activated by lever. Squeezing the convertina supplies the air supply The buttons on the ends are for decoration only. The leather straps are poor replacements. The winding key is present, but the mechanism makes noise, but we are not sure it is working properly. A neat item and a restoration challenge for the brave and talented.
