William L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., "Columbia" wall clock with an 8 day spring driven brass time and strike movement in a walnut case.
Anonymous (not verified)
24 October 2024
The case retains the original finish. The painted dial and nickel plated bezel on this clock appear to have come from a Waterbury Clock Co. clock based upon the logo on the dial and the extra screw holes on the case face where the dial is attached. The hands are replacements. The bottom left finial is missing. The movement is a signed Gilbert movement and the cathedral gong is signed G. B. Owen, The 1906 Gilbert catalogue shows decorative carved pieces on the lower left and right parts of the top arch. Although there is no visual evidence of them, they are probably missing. The door glass and decorative stencil are original and correct.
