Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Colossal" gold plated metal 8 day time and strike mantel clock, the center portion of the case appears to have been gold-painted, the rest of the case is glossy lacquered brass. The silvered dial, with raised bronze numbers, shows some wear, minor scratches, and tarnish. The minute hand finish is worn and more copper colored than the hour hand. The 48L movement ticks and strikes but was not tested long term. The beveled convex glass is fine; the rear door cloth is new.
