French, MYSTERY clock, time and bell strike, with Guilmet patent movement [signed], in a black marble case, accented with lions to the sides and with cast feet, the statue above carrying the glass lens pendulum, moving with no apparent impulse. original black slate / marble case has no breaks nor repairs; minor edge roughness commensurate with the age of the clock. The incising in the case front originally held gold highlights, now absent. The spelter statue has repaired left raised arm , the statue now painted black. Movement is clean and appears to run, but would benefit from professional set up. Original black dial with incised Roman numerals retains original bright gilding.
