The case retains its original finish. There is minor veneer damage/repair on the top and bottom returns and on the calendar window bezel. The paper dials have aged and are darkened by a varnish. The hands are period and likely correct. The movement is signed. The door glasses are original. The case has original setting up label dated Dec1, 1877, thus an early example of the Andrews patent calendar mechanism.
