Mahogany and mahogany veneered case with repairs to the scroll tips. The feet and skirt have been replaced. Center chimney cap is damaged. Period painted dial with some wear. We question if the backboard with early "ELI TERRY" label is original to this case as most early pillar & scroll clocks were thinner and the movement back plate inset into the backboard with a tin dust cover. Later models had deeper cases with a full backboard as does this case. The movement appears to have been modified from a long pendulum type and has a round hour pipe instead of a square hub for the hour hand indicative of a later movement. The Mount Vernon tablet is old and perhaps original, but is now cracked. There are no finials. Period dial and hands.
