Clocks- 2 (Two) Ansonia Clock Co., New York, NY, "Monarch" walnut 8 day time and strike mantel clocks, one with alarm, c1880 the darker example appears to have its original finish with some scratches. There are a few small holes on the sides where something (incorrect) may have been attached at one time. The top urn ornament handles are new and unstained. It retains its rear paper label, along with a St. Louis retailer label, but its paper dial is quite worn. The tablet is original but worn. The lighter color one (with alarm) has been refinished and its front carved side ornaments were missing, so the back ones have been moved to the front. Its original paper dial is good, but its glass is new and inappropriate. Both tick and strike but were not tested long term. Pendulums and hands correct on both.
