William L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., "Office Drop Calendar", 8 day, spring brass movement with Gilbert's calendar (which evaded Maranville's patent) wall timepiece. Walnut and walnut burl veneered case in original finish has some slight damage to the two carved medallions just above the bottom door. Original paper dial has some damage along the bottom edge, at the top near the month opening and in a couple places at the day of the week openings. Original hands and pendulum. Original tablet is worn in places. The carving just above the bottom door is missing, but a nicely carved replacement is included. Nice label inside the case.
