Cuckoo Clock, German Black Forest, large carved walnut 30 hour with oversize cuckoo, case "305" very similar to example shown in Appendix A, Beha catalogue, of Justin Miller book, No. 608. Three bellows provide cuckoo song counting on the hours, quail song on the half hours. c1880 the ornate highly carved case is in very nice original condition with no apparent losses. The fancy bone hands are fine, as is the large articulated painted wood bird. The three bellows tops are newer. The pendulum stick has been repaired and is a bit short. The movement ticks and strikes correctly, but was not tested long term. An English-language instruction paper is on the rear door, along with a better-quality gong.
