Gilbert Kitchen Mantel clock with an 8 day spring driven time and strike movement in an oak case, c1900. (3) E. N. Welch Clock Co., Forestville, Conn., "Coghlan" shelf clock with an 8 day spring driven time and strike movement in a walnut case, c1886. (1) The original finish has darkened with age. The paper dial is in good condition with some age marks. The hands are original. The door glass is period and may be original. Part of the crest is missing. The pendulum bob is the fancy model with the Slow / Fast indicator hand. Ht. 25in. (2) The clock now has a Seth Thomas dial. The case has had additional finish applied. Ht. 21in. (3) The case has been covered with a light colored stain. The paper dial is worn. The cathedral gong (still inside the case) has been replaced by a small bell. Original Welch pendulum. Ht. 21in.
