Jerome or J. C. Brown, 30 hour, time and strike spring driven movement cottage clock, c1850. (1) Mahogany veneered case in original finish has small piece of veneer missing the upper right corner. Original gold decoration is worn in a places. Original painted dial is soiled with scattered loss. Movement is mounted a seat board screwed to the backboard. Minute hand is a replacement. Movement is signed; (2) Painted and decorated softwood case in original finish has age darkened, but still nice. Original dial has been repainted. Hands replaced. Door glass is cracked; (3) Mahogany veneered case in nice condition in original finish. Original dial looks repainted. Original brass springs. Original hands. Measurement is for the largest clock.
