French: Merra, Paris, mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, count wheel and bell movement with silk thread suspension by Vincenti & Cie., Paris. White marble case with gilt hardware, fluted columns and twisted arched supports, the top with large gilt roses in bloom. Signed white porcelain dial with Roman numerals. The marble elements of the case have some very fine chips along the edges. Porcelain dial is good, but for two cracks and a small missing piece above the XII. The garland below the dial looks appropriate, but is likely a later addition. Front and rear convex beveled glasses are in good condition as are the hands. Some of the twisted arches are loose and could use attention. The Vincenti movement has the Medaille d'Argent, 1855 stamp. The movement ticks and strikes, but was not tested long term.
