Ansonia Clock Co., New York, NY, "Monarch" mantel clock with 8 day, spring driven time and strike movement, in a walnut case with applied metal ornaments, patented pendulum, and dedication plaque dated 1892. The case has its original finish with minor scratches. There is a small damaged area on the molding on the lower right side. The paper dial is in good condition but has darkened in places. The stenciled glass is original with some loss of the pattern towards the bottom. The two scrollwork decorative handles for the sides of the top urn finial are missing, but unfinished replacements are included. Nearly complete label on the back. Very nice glass front pendulum. The movement ticks and strikes, but was not tested long term.
