Poland, elaborately carved wall clock, 8 day, time and strike spring driven movement

24 October 2024
A large carving in oak of a hunting motif of birds, leaves and a rabbit mount on a plaque. The carved horn on the left side is also carved with the words: "Darz Bor" which is a traditional greeting of foresters and hunters. It is also the name of a Polish beer. The name "Marcukiewicz W" carved just below the bird on the right side maybe the name of the carver. The carving houses a typical French movement with carved Black Forest cuckoo clock hands. The minute hand is a little too thick for the movement which prevents the use of washer and pin.
