Germany, 8 day, shelf cuckoo, time and strike fusee movement with wooden plates and brass wheels, in a finely carved case, possibly by Ketterer. Nicely carved oak case of sheep grazing. A part of a leg is missing on both carved animals. Cuckoo door is missing. Two of the leaves on the right side have a little damage at the tip. Someone was a little heavy with glue in attaching the number five to the dial. Hands are replacements, not bone. The carved top figure is very nicely done, but may not be original as it appears to be a different wood. The gong is not original. The pendulum maybe a replacement. The roof panels are warped. Still an early cuckoo worthy of restoration
